Overview
Ilbasan, called Erzen in some sources, ruled the left wing for about a quarter century. Under him the eastern Jochids built towns and mosques along the Syr Darya.
Rise to Power
He succeeded his father around 1320.
Rule and Achievements
- Probably gained land in the south-east, around Otrar and the Syr Darya
- Recognised the overlordship of Öz Beg of the Golden Horde
Legacy
He died in 1344 or 1345 and was succeeded by his son Chimtai. He was the last khan of Orda's direct line whose reign is clearly recorded.
