Overview
Shar was Zasagt Khan of the Khalkha from 1686 to 1687. His death in battle with the Tüsheet Khan set off the chain of events that ended Khalkha independence.

- Sought the support of the Dzungar ruler Galdan in the feud between the Zasagt and Tüsheet Khans
Legacy
Chakhundorj defeated and killed him in 1687, together with Galdan's brother. Galdan invaded Khalkha the next year, and the Khalkha khans submitted to the Qing in 1691. Shar's younger brother Tsevenjab became Zasagt Khan.
