Overview

Dashinchilen covers 2,318 km² of Bulgan aimag and is divided into four bags: Dorgont, Kharaat, Lakh and Töv.

Its best-known monument is the White House of Tsogt Taij (Choghtu Khong Tayiji, 1581–1637), built in 1601. Tsogt was a Khalkha noble, poet and translator who sided with Ligdan Khan, the last grand khan of the Mongols. Foundations around the ruin suggest that his followers lived nearby.

The writer and politician Sonomyn Udval (1921–1991) came from Dashinchilen.
