Overview
Hasan, son of Ali, was placed on the throne of Samarkand by Sanjar in 1130. The coin record gives him the title Qara Khan; older lists call him Jalal al-Dunya.
Rise to Power
Older lists place two short reigns around his, those of Muhammad Arslan Khan's sons Nasr and Ahmad, in 1129–30; the coin record does not confirm them as khans.

Legacy
He died or was removed in 1132. Older lists name a successor, Ibrahim, who held the throne briefly that year, before Sanjar gave Samarkand to his nephew Mahmud. Hasan's sons Ali and Mas'ud later ruled Samarkand themselves.
